Save recipes on your phone
Found a recipe on your phone? Paste its link and it is saved. If the site will not let recipe apps in, a few screenshots do the job just as well.

How to save a recipe on your phone
Copy the recipe's link
On the recipe page in Safari or Chrome, tap Share, then Copy (on Android, Copy link). In newer versions of Safari, Share is in the menu at the left of the address bar. In TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest, tap Share, then Copy link.
Paste it into From a link
Open Snap and Simmer at snapandsimmer.com, tap Add, then From a link. Paste the link and tap Import recipe. A few seconds later the recipe is in your kitchen.
Site won't let us in? Take screenshots
A few recipe sites turn recipe apps away. When that happens, Snap and Simmer tells you and shows you other ways in.
Go back to the recipe and take screenshots as you scroll, from the recipe's title down to its last step. Up to 6 is plenty. Close any video that floats over the page first, so it doesn't cover part of the recipe.
Add them all with From a photo
Tap Add, then From a photo, choose all the screenshots, and tap Read the recipes. We read them together and put the recipe back in one piece, whatever order you picked them in.
Screenshots do not carry the dish's photo, so we paint a picture of the finished dish for it.
Or copy the text
Press and hold on the recipe's title, drag the handles down to its last step, and tap Copy. Then tap Add, then Paste a recipe, paste it in and tap Create recipe. Messy is fine: we sort out the title, ingredients and steps. Copy the page's address along with it and we keep it as the source.
Even easier in the iPhone app
In the Snap and Simmer iPhone app, you can skip the copying and the screenshots. On a recipe page in Safari, tap Share (in newer versions of Safari it is in the menu at the left of the address bar), then Snap and Simmer, and the recipe is saved from the page you are looking at, even on sites that turn recipe apps away.
Paste a link to one of those sites into From a link and the app opens the page on your phone and saves it from there.
The iPhone app is in testing now. Until it is in the App Store, use the steps above.
Questions
Is there a Snap and Simmer app for my phone?
Snap and Simmer works in the browser on any phone: go to snapandsimmer.com and sign in. An iPhone app is in testing now, and an Android app is in the works.
Why do some recipe sites not import?
Some big recipe sites turn away recipe apps when they try to open a page. Screenshots and copied text always work, because they come from the page that is already on your screen.
How many screenshots can I add at once?
Up to 6. If a recipe runs across them, we put it back together in the right order.
What if part of the recipe is missing from my screenshots?
We only save a recipe that is shown in full, and we never guess the missing part. If a floating video or an ad covered some of it, close it, take a screenshot of that part and add them all again.
Can I save TikToks and Reels on my phone?
Yes. Copy the video's link in the TikTok or Instagram app and paste it into From a link.
