Make a real cookbook from your recipes
Pick the recipes, sort them into chapters, write a dedication, and download a book that is ready to print. It reads like a cookbook because it is laid out like one.

How a cookbook comes together
Start a cookbook
Open the Cookbooks tab and tap + New. Give it a title, such as "Holiday Baking", and a subtitle if you like.
Add recipes and sort them into chapters
Tap + Add recipes to pick from your kitchen, and + Add chapter for headings like Breakfast or Desserts. Drag the handle on any row to reorder. A recipe belongs to the chapter above it.
Write the words that make it yours
Tap ✏️ Book setup. Add a dedication, an introduction, a few opening lines for each chapter and a note on the recipes that matter most.
Want a head start? We can draft the introduction and the notes from your own recipes, ratings and comments, never from anything made up. Read the draft over and add the stories only your family knows.
Preview and print
Tap 🖨️ Preview and print on a computer. Choose where it will be printed and the ink, look through the finished pages on screen, then Download PDF.
What is in the finished book
- A title page with your title and subtitle.
- Your dedication on its own page, then your introduction.
- A contents page.
- A chapter page for each chapter, with its opening lines.
- Every recipe laid out with its photo, ingredients, steps and your note.
- For the two paperback sizes, a matching cover file: back, spine and front laid flat, the way a print service needs it.
Three ways to print it
At home. Letter-size pages for your own printer. Recipes start on their own page, so single pages are easy to pull out and use in the kitchen.
Paperback, 6 by 9 inches. The most common book size, with a matching cover, ready for any print shop or print-on-demand service.
Large paperback, 8 by 10 inches. Bigger pages and photos, with a matching cover.
Black and white costs less to print and turns the photos gray; the cover is always in color. Ordering a printed hardcover from inside Snap and Simmer is coming soon.
Why people make one
- A gift that holds the family's recipes in one place.
- A keepsake of a parent's or grandparent's cooking, with their notes.
- A book for a kid leaving home, with the dinners they grew up on.
- A plain working binder of the recipes you cook most.
