How to turn a Reel into a recipe
Copy the Reel's link
On the Reel in Instagram, tap the share arrow, then Copy link.

Open Add, then From a link
In Snap and Simmer, tap Add, then From a link.
Paste it and tap Import recipe
Paste the link and tap Import recipe.
We read the caption first, then any recipe page the creator links to. If the recipe is only in the Reel itself, we watch it, listen to what is said and read the text on screen. Watching takes about a minute.
Check it and cook
The recipe lands in your kitchen with its ingredients, steps and tags, and the Reel stays linked. Anything the Reel never said, such as an amount, is left blank instead of guessed.
Good to know
- Linked videos can be up to three minutes long.
- Every kitchen gets 5 video watches a month while we are in beta. Recipes found in the caption or on a linked blog do not need a watch.
- If the creator's blog blocks importers, we tell you, and the web clipper can save that page from your browser.
- We never guess at missing amounts or steps.
Questions
Do I need to connect my Instagram account?
No. You only paste the Reel's link.
What if the caption just says "recipe on my blog"?
We follow the link the creator shared and read the recipe from that page.
What if there is no written recipe anywhere?
We watch the Reel, listen to what is said, read the text on screen and write the recipe from that.
Can I save a Reel I recorded or downloaded myself?
Yes. Use From a video and pick it from your phone.
