How to save a recipe from a link
Copy the recipe page's link
Open the recipe in your browser and copy its address from the address bar, or use the share button and choose Copy link.
Open Add, then From a link
In Snap and Simmer, tap Add, then From a link.
Paste it and tap Import recipe
Paste the address into Recipe URL and tap Import recipe. This usually takes a few seconds.
While you wait, we fetch the page, strip out everything that is not the recipe, pull out the ingredients and steps, and tag it.
Cook from a clean recipe
The recipe opens with its title, ingredients, steps, cooking time, servings and photo, already tagged by meal, cuisine, diet and effort. The link back to the original page is kept, so you can always see where it came from.
What you get
- The title, ingredients, steps, time and servings, laid out the same way for every recipe.
- The photo of the dish from the page, stored with your recipe.
- Tags by meal, cuisine, diet and effort, so search finds it later.
- A link back to the original page.
- Nothing made up. What you save is what the page said.
If a site blocks importing
Some big recipe sites refuse to hand their pages to importers. For those, use the web clipper: a button in your own browser that saves the page you are looking at.
Questions
Does it work with any recipe site?
It works with most recipe pages. A few sites block importers; for those, the web clipper saves the page from your own browser instead.
Does it keep the original link?
Yes. Every recipe saved from a link keeps its source, and you can browse your recipes by where they came from.
Will it change the recipe?
No. We copy what the page says. We do not add ingredients, steps or amounts that are not there.
Can I paste a TikTok or Instagram link in the same box?
Yes. The same From a link box takes recipe pages, TikToks and Instagram Reels.
