A Paprika alternative for households that cook together
Paprika is a well-loved recipe manager. If you want one kitchen your whole household shares, recipes saved from TikTok and Reels, and a family cookbook at the end, here is how Snap and Simmer compares.
Free while we are in beta. No credit card.

When Paprika is the better pick
- You want to pay once, not subscribe, and keep the app for years.
- You want a native app on a Windows PC or an Android tablet today.
- You like planning by the month, or printing recipes onto index cards.
- You cook alone, so sharing a kitchen does not matter.
When Snap and Simmer is the better pick
- More than one person cooks in your house and you want one shared collection, without sharing a password.
- You want different people to do different things: a partner who edits, parents who can only browse and comment.
- You save from TikTok, Reels, Facebook and Pinterest, including videos where the recipe is only spoken.
- You want to turn the family's recipes into a printed cookbook with a dedication and an introduction.
- You want it in any browser, on any computer, without buying it for each one.
