Save a recipe from a Pinterest pin
A board full of pins is not a recipe box. Paste a pin's link and the recipe behind it is saved in your kitchen, written out and ready to cook from.

How to turn a pin into a recipe
Copy the pin's link
Open the pin in Pinterest, tap Share, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the address bar. Short pin.it links work too.
Open Add, then From a link
In Snap and Simmer, tap Add, then From a link. Pins go in the same box as recipe web pages.
Paste it and tap Import recipe
Paste the link and tap Import recipe.
Most recipe pins were saved from a food site, and that page is where the recipe is. We find the page behind the pin and save the recipe from it, the same as if you had pasted that page's link. If the pin has no page behind it, we read the pin's own description.
Cook from a clean recipe
The recipe opens with its title, ingredients, steps, time and photo, already tagged. It links back to the page the recipe came from.
Good to know
- You do not need a Pinterest account. You only need the pin's link.
- The link must be to one pin, not a whole board.
- A pin of a TikTok, an Instagram Reel or a Facebook video is saved the same way those links are.
- Nothing made up. What you save is what the page said.
If the pin is only a picture
Some pins are a photo of a recipe with no page behind them. Save the picture and add it with a photo instead: we read the recipe off the picture.
Questions
Do I need a Pinterest account?
No. You only need the link to the pin.
Where does the recipe come from?
From the page the pin was saved from, which is usually a food site. The saved recipe links back to that page.
Can I save a whole board at once?
Not at the moment. Paste one pin's link at a time.
What if the site behind the pin blocks importing?
We tell you which site it is. Open that page in your browser and save it with the web clipper.
Is it free?
Yes, while we are in beta.
